Shefali Jariwala, who rose to fame after featuring in the remake of the pop song “Kaanta Laga,” passed away at the age of 42 on Friday night. The cause of death is not yet clear, police said. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.
Her husband Paras Tyagi was seen kissing her forehead in a final farewell, in a video that surfaced online.
A police team and a forensic team visited the actress-model’s residence on Saturday morning.
Earlier reports said she was brought to the hospital at 11:27 pm, and the initial cause of death was suspected to be a heart attack. However, police are investigating and the exact cause is expected to be confirmed after the post-mortem.
Mumbai Police said, “Her body was found at her residence in the Andheri area. We received the information at 1 am. The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem. The cause of death is not yet clear.” The maid and cook have been questioned at Amboli Police Station. Her family members are also being questioned.
